Each day in 2020, 2000 babies were born alive. 500 babies were miscarried. 150 babies were born preterm. 7 babies were still born.
Every baby and its parents deserve the best start in life and the sad reality is that the happily ever after, doesn’t always end happy to all families. In the UK, it is estimated that 1 in 4 pregnancies end in loss during pregnancy or birth.
Estimates suggest there are 250,000 miscarriages every year in the UK, and around 11,000 emergency admissions for ectopic pregnancies.
In many cases, the cause of miscarriage is unknown and most people won’t be able to prevent it from happening, but being able to know what factors may be able to LOWER the chance, then I’m sure every woman would love to know.

There is also a week for families and friends to come together every year and mark the lives of the babies that were lost. It is annually held from the 9th to 15th of October. It is also, to show people that they are not alone in this and it gives people a chance to process the grief and voice there journeys.
