17th October, 2020

COVID-19 has taken a huge toll on the economy with all areas of business being affected by it. One of the worst hit business’s was the Travel Industry, which was severely damaged by the abrupt shutdown of global travel, the areas that suffered the most being airlines and hotels. Although business has recently started to pick up recently we are a long way off recovery, the travel industry will further suffer as more and more people are starting to work from home., where technology such as Zoom video conferencing calls are enabling companies to interact with clients instead of through face-to-face interaction.

The entertainment industry has had mixed feelings about COVID-19 with many people having found themselves out of a job. Promoters, technicians, managers, creatives and cinema staff have all found themselves without work as all shows and viewings were cancelled, giving them limited prospects for the future. However, other areas of the industry have benefited from this unfortunate situation. On line entertainment such as Netflix and gambling sites have had an influx of increased business and have seen a surge in numbers since lock-down.

Small businesses have also suffered badly since going into lock-down in March of this year, with many different types of industries closing down. According to the Guardian, business owner “Dave Griffin”, managing director of Chauffeur Services, directs the company, which employs 4 people and contracts another 5 who are self-employed but have lost 80% of bookings, meaning a huge loss on profits.

Although the effect of COVID-19 seemed to be coming under control, the past few weeks have seen the situation begin to worsen and the government has had to take action as the death toll begins to rise again. Lock-downs have been re-introduced to the most severely affected areas with the likelihood of even more cities being forced into lock-down in the situation doesn’t improve.

With the above mentioned, Niche Office Solutions Ltd is helping small to medium size businesses with setup costs such as desks, chairs, desktops,  monitors, keyboard, mouse, screen filters, iPad, laptops, telephone systems,  security and software packages to name a few.
